Neomeris annulata — Mini Palm Finger Algae
The reef rolls out a green carpet.
What You Get
A lightly calcified collector’s favorite forming dense carpets of upright, palm-like stalks. Each frond ends in a soft, ringed tip, giving the colony a texture somewhere between coral and macroalgae. When grouped, clusters resemble a miniature tropical lawn. Fair warning: when stressed or handled roughly, Neomeris releases green pigment! Everywhere.
Why It Is Algaesome
-
Micro-palm aesthetics: Creates a lush, textured foreground.
-
Calcified & sturdy: Builds lightly mineralized stalks that hold form under flow.
-
Selective & special: Naturally limited, legally collected, and always attached to unique finds. Sometimes lobster trap bits!
-
Grazing-resistant: Generally ignored by most herbivores and clean-up crews.
-
If Neomeris had a sister...it’d be Batophora. Belonging to the same order, they share similar shape, habitat, and growth habits. Batophora is less calcified and more fuzzy-club than ringed-palm. It is also commonly sold in the aquarium hobby.”

A Note from the Collectors:
Every macroalga we offer is hand-collected, acclimated, and observed by our team before shipping. While we carefully try to remove other algae, sponges, and tiny hitchhikers, it’s possible that a few “goodies” from the reef may tag along. It's a natural part of receiving genuine wild-collected specimens!
Many species may arrive paler or whitish in color. This is completely normal. Macroalgae shift their pigments inward during transport to protect from light and stress; color returns within a few days under good aquarium lighting and flow.
We ship via 2-Day service on Mondays and Tuesdays only to ensure specimens arrive healthy. You’ll receive a notification with tracking information as soon as your order ships.
