Recent weather reminded us who’s in charge. We’re catching up on orders and collecting again. Thanks for riding it out with us.

Flats Cattail Caulerpa

Description

Caulerpa languinosa (Flats Cattail Caulerpa)

Why It Is Algaesome

• Unique upright, reed-like fronds that resemble miniature marsh cattails
• Adds height without the bulk of broad-blade Caulerpas
• Excellent nutrient uptake for refugiums and display tanks
• Native Florida species collected sustainably from shallow flats
• Fast grower under proper lighting, easy to trim and propagate

Sizing & Availability

Each order includes a hand-collected specimen (or combined specimens) of Flats Cattail Caulerpa (Caulerpa languinosa) featuring 4 to 5 upright “cattail” fronds attached to a healthy runner.

Traits
Color Bright–medium green
Ease Hardy & undemanding
Classification Green macroalgae (Caulerpa)
Nutrient Uptake High
Availability Year-round
Use Display & refugium
Lighting Moderate–high
Flow Moderate; height varies with flow
A Note from the Collectors:
Every macroalga we offer is hand-collected, acclimated, and observed by our team before shipping. While we carefully try to remove other algae, sponges, and tiny hitchhikers, it’s possible that a few “goodies” from the reef may tag along. It's a natural part of receiving genuine wild-collected specimens!

Many species may arrive paler or whitish in color. This is completely normal. Macroalgae shift their pigments inward during transport to protect from light and stress; color returns within a few days under good aquarium lighting and flow.

We ship via 2-Day service on Mondays and Tuesdays only to ensure specimens arrive healthy. You’ll receive a notification with tracking information as soon as your order ships.
