Description
Handpicked red grapes from Florida's underwater vineyard!
About This Species:
This striking macroalga grows offshore in the Gulf, clinging to ledges and hard bottoms at depths of 30–60 feet. Once established in the aquarium, it becomes a true conversation piece; it is both hardy and eye-catching.
What Makes It Special:
-
One-of-a-kind look: Bright red, grape-like air bladders clustered on stiff, lightly calcified branches.
-
Not a Caulerpa: Sometimes mistaken for “red grape Caulerpa,” but it’s actually a totally different (and more unique!) genus.
-
Aquarium superstar: Adds bold color and texture and thrives under moderate light and flow.
Sizing:
- You’ll receive a single specimen approximately 4–6 inches tall - large enough to anchor and instantly add visual impact.
Why Hobbyists Love It:
- Looks like a miniature underwater vineyard.
- Adds a splash of vibrant red to contrast with green and brown macros.
- Perfect for display tanks, lagoon-style aquascapes, or even as a colorful accent in a refugium.
