A
cute, but destructive green sea slug that feeds exclusively on
species of Caulerpa. These start showing up in late summer
attached to collected Caulerpa. They are prolific egg layers and will rapidly
multiply and devour entire colonies of Caulerpa once established
in the aquarium. They attach themselves to the algae
and suck the life out of the blades, causing the plant to die and
they're bodies to absorb the pigment turning a bright green. We
regard them as highly invasive pests to our operation and remove
several dozen per week from our grow out tanks. If your having
trouble controlling Caulerpa growth in your aquarium, these little
guys may be the answer.
