A
thin, cylindrical sea grass that is common throughout the state of
Florida and the Caribbean. It forms long runners under sand and mud sediment to
form shallow water meadows. This sea grass often grows intertwined
with turtle grass in depths of 2 feet or more. Manatee Grass
requires a deep sand bed due to its extensive root system. Marine
plants typically require bright light and moderate to strong
current to successfully keep in the aquarium.
