A
very distinctive and unusual species of red macro algae that is
fairly hardy in the aquarium but prefers slightly cooler water
temps. It features fine, lightly calcified
filaments that form a tight symmetrical sphere. Its coloration is typically
reddish-pink with white tips. This species is collected in the
Gulf of Mexico among shallow seagrass beds during the winter
season. It hasn't been
around for a few years and is fairly rare in our area but abundant
when found. Sold as a single specimen, approx
2-3" in diameter.
