Corky Finger (Briareum asbestinum)

The Corky Finger Gorgonian is a photosynthetic encrusting Bryozoan. This species of gorgonian is actually a close relative of the star coral. It features a thick purple body with pale yellow polyps. All photosynthetic gorgonians require strong lighting to successfully keep in the aquarium. Like many corals it also filter feeds, so weekly feeding is recommended for optimal health. This species is collected and offered only as loose specimens. Some are broken off colonies that have grown in irregular shapes and others have a base. You will receive a single specimen that is approx 4- 6"
